NUTHATCH (Sitta europaea)

Nuthatch by Sandra Palme s

The distinctive little bird can hardly be confused with any other species due to its plumage. Commonly found in Wales and Southern England, as its name suggest these birds have a fondness for nuts and can be lured into birdfeeders in large gardens. In the main, they are woodland or parkland birds. If there are plenty of trees they can be found in suburbia.
Site the nest box on a tree at 3 meters or higher, with a clear flight path approach.
